Service Description

As a trainer specialising in Labradors, Spaniels, and other Gundog breeds in pet homes, I see very similar struggles with older puppies and even adult dogs and they all stem from puppyhood. Common misconceptions about these breeds and how to care for them are setting well-intentioned puppy parents up for a future of stress, frustration, and exhaustion which can mostly be avoided with better understanding and a different approach to puppy raising. If you have a Labrador, Spaniel, Vizsla, Pointer, Golden Retriever, or any other breed from the Gundog group (including the "poo" and "doodle" crosses!), join our two-part Pet Gundog Puppy Masterclass and save yourself the struggles that so many high-energy breed owners find themselves dealing with every day. Here's what we'll cover: - puppy biting and how to handle your little land shark - socialisation and how to avoid the common pitfalls - resource guarding, what is it, why is it common in these breeds, and how to prevent it becoming a dangerous problem in the future - getting started with reward-based training for a happy future together - creating a training and socialisation plan for YOUR individual puppy - installing the "off-switch" in your high-energy puppy - creating independence and separation confidence - games and activities to provide outlets for breed-specific needs - getting started with recall training - how to avoid wildlife chasing habits from developing - getting started with loose lead training - how to avoid excessive lead pulling habits from developing - how your puppy's diet affects their behaviour Groups are limited to only 4 puppies so there will be plenty of Q&A time and the flexibility to tailor the content and exercises to each puppy's needs. Part one: Your first 75-minute, in-person small group session on Saturday 25th June at 11.15am Part two: Your second 75-minute, in-person small group session on Saturday 9th July at 11.15am Bonuses: - Your quick guide to puppy biting - Your quick guide to puppy socialisation and behaviour - Puppy schedule for successful and stress-free puppy raising - Daily activities for mental stimulation, enrichment, confidence building, calmness conditioning, and relationship building * Group sessions are held at South Acres Training Field, Roundhill Road, Hurworth. * Puppies must be fully vaccinated and under 6 months old.
