Well-managed sessions for puppies under 6 months old focusing on beneficial socialisation.
Perfect for Gundog breed puppies who are often either super sensitive or 100mph!
The importance of socialisation
The goal of socialisation is to raise calm, confident dogs for the future.
Most social struggles later in life stem from their early social experiences, whether that struggle becomes over the top excitement at the sight of other dogs, fear-based reactivity, or aggression.
Young dogs need to spend time with other dogs, it’s an essential part of their learning and development needs, and puppy parents often struggle to provide this if there are no suitable dogs in their family or friend circle.
The Puppy Socials will help to provide both you and your puppy with relaxed, well-managed, and educational social experiences.
About DogScentric Puppy Socials
Bad socialisation can cause just as many (if not more!) social problems later in life, than no socialisation at all.
Every puppy is different therefore it is not possible to approach socialisation the same for every puppy and get a good outcome for every puppy.
The Puppy Socials will be a maximum of six puppies who will all have different personalities and needs.
Puppies will be introduced into the environment and session gently while we learn what they need from their social experiences.
All sessions will start on lead building calm and polite on lead interactions.
Where possible, puppies will be able to have off lead play sessions with another puppy where we have a good pairing.
The sessions are relaxed and informal so you can meet other puppy owners whilst learning about your own puppy's social needs and what to look out for.
Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings at South Acres in Darlington.
They are booked as individual sessions and you can attend as many as you like.
